We are in search of an HR Generalist in Halifax to join our Corporate Services team in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Role Description
As the HR Generalist, and reporting into the Director, Client and Employee Experience, you will have the opportunity to make great contributions to our growing organization through coordinating the development and delivery of HR programs, while ensuring company policies and procedures align with employment regulations and the needs of our business.
Your responsibilities will include:

Recruiting, interviewing, and facilitating the hiring of qualified candidates for internal positions while collaborating with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings and ensuring internal recruitment policies are followed.

Contributing to ongoing workforce planning.

Developing orientation programs and facilitating the onboarding and off-boarding processes in collaboration with the Office Coordinator and IT Manager. Supporting ongoing system and process training as well as engagement programs for new and current employees.

Ensuring employment contracts and supporting documents are completed in a timely manner for internal hires including, role assessments, background checks, and reference checks.

Appling existing HR programs and policies while working with partners/employee engagement committee to develop, implement, and monitor new HR initiatives and policies as needed.

Working in collaboration with the Director, Finance to maintain compliance with federal and provincial employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices.

Maintaining knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, as well as referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate leaders.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Previous experience working with HRIS or Applicant Tracking systems would be considered an asset.

Post-secondary degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

At least one year of professional experience working in an HR management related role.
