The successful candidate will work closely with HW designers, SW designers and systems architects and will perform some of the following tasks:

Develop and support tools to help the design teams deliver product solutions to the market,

Help develop applications used to test the capabilities of the 6500 system,

Configure and connect nodes and test sets in the lab,

Write and execute test scripts
REQUIRED SKILLS AND HELPFUL EXPERIENCE

We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative computer technologist students to join our team for an 8 month coop term. As a member of this team, you need to be a self-motivated problem solver who likes to multitask. You also need to be a good communicator and a team player that revels in the challenge of solving technical issues. You must be happy and comfortable in the lab and love to make things go!

Experience using Linux based workstations

Experience writing scripts - experience with Python, Perl, TCL and/or Expect is an asset

Experience with configuring and using optical systems and testsets is an asset

Experience in a development lab environment is an asset static control, connecting fibers, etc.

Optical Networking knowledge is an asset

C/C++ coding experience is an asset
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Enrolled in a diploma program for Computer Engineering, Computer Systems or equivalent.

Preference is given to students in their third year that are available for an 8 month work term.
