Superior Asphalt Paving Company Ltd. is a COR certified, locally owned, family-run business that is a major force in the asphalt field, employing more than 45 people in the spring and summer. In the winter our business turns from creation to removal where we clear snow and ice from over 200 commercial parking lots, malls, and shopping centres.

We offer competitive wages and opportunity for advancement. Our work week is Monday to Friday, typically 10+ hour days with weekly pay every Friday. Full benefits packaged offered after 3 months.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of work areas, including clearing debris, setting up forms, and ensuring proper subgrade preparation.
- Assist in the installation and placement of concrete, including pouring, spreading, and leveling.
- Cut expansion joints in freshly poured concrete.
- Level concrete surfaces using rakes, shovels, and trowels.
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
- Follow instructions provided by supervisors or lead workers to complete assigned tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Mix and apply sealants and coatings to concrete surfaces according to specifications and design requirements.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Report any unsafe work practices or safety hazards encountered on the job to the Foreman.
- Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of tools, equipment, and work areas.
- And other duties as assigned by foreman.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience in concrete construction, must include raking experience.
- Screeding experience is an asset.
- Ability to catch edges, experience in bow floating, hand wiping.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and design specifications.
- Proficiency in using concrete finishing tools.
- Ability to accurately measure and mix concrete materials.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices and the ability to adhere to safety guidelines.

Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
