With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:
- Bi-weekly processing and auditing of end to end benefit processes for union and non-unionized employees
- Provide leadership to Benefit Service Representatives and ensure performance standards and customer expectations are met in delivering end to end bi-weekly services
- Serve as a functional expert in Benefits life cycle, supporting the Director, Managers, Team Leaders and Representatives that are responsible for the provision of Benefit services
- Work with Managers and Team Leaders to identify training needs by performing needs analysis, developing and delivering training programs and documentation to empower Representatives to handle difficult Benefit inquiries
- Serve with other Team Leaders in acting as a liaison with the PeopleSoft IT team to support ESC initiatives for PeopleSoft system conversion
- Provide annual FSA and HCSA enrolment and reconciliation functions in accordance with Collective Agreements and third party processes
- Act as internal expert on all benefit, sick and leave plans, on-boarding and on-demand
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Business Administration, or a discipline as required by area of specialization and/or
- Certificate in Benefits Administration (CEBS)
- Minimum of five (5) years progressive experience in benefit administration
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience
- Working within a large unionized environment is considered an asset
- Proven ability to supervise high performing teams in a unionized environment
- Demonstrated ability to actively coach and lead teams with enthusiasm and professionalism in a fast paced, high-volume environment
- Relevant experience in creating and delivering training programs for benefit processes
- Experience with Benefit system upgrades and leading teams through training and testing
- Experience interpreting and applying multiple Collective Agreements for benefit purposes
- Exceptional customer service, analytical and proactive problem solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and team members effectively
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Peoplesoft, Google, Microsoft Word & Excel, Access

The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
Salary: : $35.386 - $44.378 (Hourly); $73,885.970 - $92,661.260 (Annually)
