As a Manager, Project Management within the Achievers Project Management Office, we are looking for a highly organized, self-motivated, driven individual with exceptional project management skills who can help lead some of our most strategic enterprise projects while also building scalable PMO processes and best practices while leading and inspire the PMO team to help deliver cross-functional projects across the organization.
This role requires an individual with a strong technical background, a proven track record of successfully leading cross functional teams and the drive to work collaboratively within a global, matrixed, and fast-paced environment to deliver successful outcomes. As a player coach, the Manager, Project Management will lead a few key strategic projects and will help to support, coach and inspire the existing team of Project Managers who are part of the PMO office. This leader will also be responsible for working collaboratively with leaders across the business to help assess and shape projects that are still in the early business plan stages as we continue to develop our project management competency across the business.
Project Management:

Responsible for end-to-end planning and management of multiple complex enterprise-wide projects with a focus on financial & technical system transformation implementations

Works collaboratively with the business as a consultant supporting business leaders with the creation of project strategy, business cases and solutions. Inclusive of identification, scoping, preparation of business requirements, and mapping technical solutions.

Responsible for developing robust project schedules, project charters, risk assessment, and status reports.

Responsible for scheduling and coordinating meetings as needed related to above deliverables

Monitors and reviews overall project delivery, risks, resources, and stakeholders of all levels

Provide timely and ongoing communication reporting to key stakeholders on status, health, key highlights, and milestones.

Create and execute change management plans to ensure the greatest return on investment from all projects.

Manage work and resources according to deliverables set out in the project plan and ensure work is proceeding according to plan

Proactively identify and resolve complex problems, conceptualize, and develop long range strategic directions for projects in terms of program and operational requirements.
People leadership:

Develop, and retain high performing team that embodies the culture of Achievers while performing at a pace that meets business needs.

Manage regular one-on-one meetings with team members to facilitate goal enablement, team development, coaching plans, and proactively treat any business-critical needs.

Closely monitor metrics against goals and call out any issues with a proactive solution if issues are identified.

Support project managers in their development through goal setting, training, and personal development opportunities.

Guide the project management team with project management techniques, fine tuning our approaches as needed in alignment with frameworks, processes and tools outlined by the organization.
Project Management office:

Continue to evolve the project management process at Achievers to include direct and supportive project management.

Act as the direct escalation path for project managers, helping to resolve project issues in a timely manner. This includes proactively escalating issues and risks that require executive attention.

Lead complex, high impact projects involving multiple internal and external partners.

Manage and lead the supportive project management function focused on teaching employees across the business project management best practices to implement within their Division or Department.

Manage the PMO project intake and business requirement discovery sessions to help define department workload and resource allocations.

Manage the PMO gating process, ensuring effective communications to stakeholders to drive project decisions.

Act as a key partner for stakeholders across the business to understand competing priorities and areas of improvement. Deepen and strengthen key partnerships, building trusted relationships across the organization.

Manage regular departmental reporting, business reviews and support business planning to establish the departments yearly goals and quarterly priorities.

Proven 6-8 years of project management experience and success leading complex enterprise projects

Management consulting experience

2+ years of people leadership experience

Experience working on managed services transition programs and complex technical implementations

Comfort working independently with minimal supervision

Comfort with ambiguity, the ability to make decisions and move projects forward despite not always having all the key information

Competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint) and project management software (SmartSheet, Miro)

Always reliable, consistent, flexible, and adaptable

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

Strong negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution abilities

Motivated with a strong focus on execution, process, documentation, and metrics

PMI, Scrum Alliance, ITIL or Six Sigma certifications or equivalent desired
