Reporting to the Executive Director, Quality, Safety, Improvement and Experience, the Director works in partnership with the Executive Director and Executive Medical Director and is responsible and accountable for leading a team in the planning, delivery and evaluation of Clinical Governance, Accreditation, Ethics support, Standards, and Quality Improvement in support of the vision, mission and values of Island Health. The Director ensures the integration of key quality standards within the health authority and develops a process for standardizing and integrating evidence-based best practices within Integrated Health Services in Island Health. The Director participates in establishing the infrastructure, support and working arrangements for Quality as part of the Clinical Governance planning and delivery, including linking with the Health Authority Medical Quality Committee (HAMQC). The Director is responsible for overseeing coordination of clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives within the health region, to ensure that teams are working to support local and regional quality planning. The Director works with key partner agencies to achieve outcomes identified in the Strategic Plan of Island Health. The Director allocates and manages all physical, human and financial resources, anticipating future changes that will affect service delivery.
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's Degree in a related discipline such as Nursing, Applied Leadership and Training, or Public Administration plus seven (7) years' progressive senior management experience in health care/program management.
