Automation technicians perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.
The technician needs to be able to troubleshoot the issue and determine if the problem is electrical or from the computer systems controlling the process.
Must have knowledge of instrumentation and computers networking
- Install, maintain, and replace automation systems on mobile mining equipment
- troubleshoot component parts, including motion sensors, control components, photosensors, and other vital technology
- Log equipment usage, parts replacement, and scheduled maintenance to ensure maximum functionality
- Report to leadership regarding automation capabilities and status
Work Experience
- Experience in a production environment, particularly as it relates to automation technology on underground mobile equipment
- Electrician
- Instrumentation
- PLC programming
- Computer networking
- Support technician
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Computer programming an asset
- WAN and LAN experience an asset
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and communication skills
Education \ Certification
- Robotics and automation, or a closely related technical field
Wages \ Terms of Employment
- up to $44.00 depending on experience
- Overtime after 8 hours per day
