Advertising Sales Representative
We are seeking talented independent advertising/sales representatives to join our small team. We are looking for highly motivated, self-starters with experience in sales and marketing, a passion for Hamilton, and at least five years of experience selling print and digital advertising. A team player, you are results-oriented and have the exceptional interpersonal, communications and presentation skills to successfully develop and maintain relationships with new and past clients and advertising agency staff.
Successful candidates will be able to work from their offices or homes. Responsibilities:
- Develop ad sales promotions/pitches, packages and other sales opportunities
- Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with existing and potential clients to secure advertising partnerships
- Manage and grow our existing customer base by providing exceptional service and support, and following up on leads
- Contact and meet with potential clients to present advertising proposals and secure deals
- Track sales and report to management team
- Secure the finished ads (print and digital) according to our media kit’s specifications or coordinate to secure art work and design directions for internal production by HCM
Qualifications:
- Five years of experience in publishing/magazine advertising sales (print + digital)
- Proven experience working as an advertising sales representative with exceptional customer service skills; consultative selling techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of marketing principles and techniques
- Knowledge of and experience in the Hamilton and Burlington market
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong negotiation and consultative sales skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- An established network of contacts in the Hamilton, Burlington region would be an asset
- Good listener who asks great questions (and builds trust)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with Google Drive.
