Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the HIS Project Director and/or Project Manager, the Business Analyst (BA) will be responsible for supporting the planning, procurement, implementation, and adoption of Sunnybrook’s future Health Information System. As a member of the Project REACH (Renew, Expand & Advance Clinical Health Informatics) team, the BA will work closely with staff, clinicians and members of the Project REACH team to analyze and align HIS configuration decisions with best practice workflows and Sunnybrook requirements. As a liaison between HIS user working groups and workstreams, the BA will play an integral role in monitoring and reporting workstream status to Project Managers. The BA will apply analytical knowledge and business experience to identify and document clinical/business requirements, workflows, functional requirements, use cases, test and training plans in collaboration with stakeholders all while ensuring alignment with PMO methodology and standards.
Specific Responsibilities include the following:
- Identify, validate, and document business requirements and system specifications
- Document current and future state workflows, identifying and mitigating impact of revised workflows on current operations
- Lead the development, execution, and tracking of the test plan
- Track, monitor and report on status of assigned workstream and plan deviations to the Project Manager
- Identify, prioritize, and track project issues and risks, escalating to Project Manager when appropriate
- Develop and maintain project templates and relevant documents
- Provide secretariat support to working group and workstream meetings
- Collecting project benefits KPIs and conduct analysis
- Assist in the development of training materials
- Track go-live issues and provide end user support at the elbow and through the central command centre
- Establish excellent working relationships with project team members as well as internal/external stakeholders
Qualifications/Skills:
- 2+ years of experience working in a hospital setting is highly preferred
- University degree in Health Informatics, Health Discipline, Business or related field is preferred
- 3+ years of project experience, working on technology system implementation is required
- Business Analyst designation (completed or in progress) is preferred
- Sound knowledge of project management methodology is required
- Self-motivated, detailed oriented and ability to manage/prioritize deadlines effectively
- Able to facilitate meetings and manage change effectively
- Able to impact and influence others to obtain critical information in a timely manner
- Excellent analytical, writing, presentation, problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Experience with MS Office with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio
