Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual with excellent technical and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and who takes pride in producing quality work with a high degree of accuracy and superior attention to detail. An ideal candidate will have experience with using 3D software for mechanical/piping design in an engineering consulting environment in the Mining and Ports and Marine industries.
Responsibilities

Working closely with engineers to develop 3d models and mechanical drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data, to be issued for a wide range of industries

Ensuring design drawings comply with all established guidelines and specifications

Reviewing of vendor drawings and design data.

Ensuring project schedules and man-hour budgets are met for areas of assigned work.

Maintaining progress details for drawings produced by personnel under their supervision.

Work collaboratively with personnel across all disciplines.
Qualifications
-
Diploma in Engineering Technology or equivalent educational background from a recognized technical institute or university

8+ minimum years of practical experience in piping/mechanical design on Mining Projects

Material Handling design experience
-
Experience designing platework and process slurry piping
-
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work as a team in a multi-discipline environment.

High competency using AutoCAD

Highly proficient with CADWorx or Plant 3D

Bilingual language skills an asset - English/French

Actively working on improving drafting skills and increasing knowledge of mechanical design though self-training, in-house training and external courses.
