Our Legal and Regulatory teams advance and help develop Bell’s corporate, legal and regulatory strategies by providing strategic advice and legal counsel, protecting Bell’s interests, and liaising with regulatory and government agencies.
We are seeking a Securities Legal Counsel to operate in a fast paced and dynamic work environment. This role will be part of a team of lawyers providing legal support in various disclosure (including ESG) and compliance matters, as well as all corporate finance initiatives undertaken by the BCE group of companies. An ideal candidate for this position should have 2-6 years of relevant business law experience gained in private practice and/or in-house, with a particular focus on securities compliance obligations and corporate finance activities of public companies.
- Assist with various securities and corporate law compliance, disclosure and transactional matters.

Analyze and report on various securities and corporate legislative changes, including ESG developments.

Draft and review various public corporate disclosure documents such as MD&As, Annual Information Forms, financial statements and press releases, including ESG disclosure documents; and draft other documents such as board resolutions and company policies.

Support the Treasury Team in public financings and other corporate finance initiatives carried out by the BCE group of companies and lead on related legal aspects.

Support management in contract interpretation and negotiation.
- Called to the Bar of a Canadian province.

2 to 6 years of relevant business law experience gained in private practice and/or within the legal department of a Canadian public company.

Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in English and French

Ability to understand, simplify and explain complex legal issues to senior business
- Relevant experience with ESG disclosure and banking matters would be definite assets.

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
