Reporting directly to the VP Credit Card Portfolios, the Director, Credit Card Acquisition & Engagement is responsible for the development and execution of the overall credit card acquisition and engagement strategy for a key retail partner; fostering strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the team’s efficient operations, success, balanced and efficient growth, and partner satisfaction. The person will lead a team of professionals focused on optimizing results for the portfolio. The Director will also be responsible for developing and implementing balanced channel mix strategies in an omni channel acquisition environment, staying abreast of innovative acquisition solutions and influence alternate solutions to profitably accelerate acquisitions growth, compliant sales practices and proactively mitigate risk. The Director will also be responsible for developing the portfolio’s customer engagement strategy, driving key portfolio metrics and ultimately portfolio profitability.

Work directly with the Partner and team to develop innovative and impactful training solutions to optimize effective acquisitions growth within the Partner retail environment.

Work effectively with the Partner and internal stakeholders to identify and influence mutually beneficial cross channel acquisition opportunities within a defined cost per acquisition model and gain buy in to ensure effective execution, tracking and oversight of all key initiatives.

Work in partnership with our internal and external teams to develop programs to effectively grow our lifecycle management strategy driving customer spend and engagement.

Leverage data, reporting and a knowledge of the partner and competitive environment to understand business challenges, clearly identify new opportunities and gaps and work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement growth and/or operational efficiency solutions with a sense of urgency

Constantly represent Fairstone and its values to the highest standards internally and externally

Keep updated on market and competitive acquisition and engagement activities and solutions in the industry

Lead, mentor and support the team in key selling and customer service interactions.

Motivate the team to achieve objectives by conducting performance appraisals, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback

Hire and develop a talented team; establish and foster an environment of best practices through effective team mentorship, coaching and leadership.

Focus the team on profitable growth opportunities that will ensure overall revenue targets are achieved

Monitor category-specific landscapes and trends, reporting on the forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts.

Keep current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.

Monitor and maintain profitability of portfolio acquisition volume and mix and devise action plans to ensure profitability and growth hurdles are overcome.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or relevant work experience.
-
Experience in the financial lending industry.
-
5 to 7 years’ experience in acquisition and business development.
-
3 to 5 years’ experience leading a team.

Previous experience successfully leading acquisition and engagement strategy and execution in a credit card issuing environment a must, experience with retail partnerships, co brand retail card issuance or Retail operations, an asset

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Bilingual (French and English), an asset
