The Ontario Food Terminal Board is currently seeking a full-time forklift – power machine operator to work within its cold storage facility. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and part of our cold storage team. Accommodations are available to applicants with disabilities.
Qualifications:
· Certificate in Safe Operation of Lift Trucks
- Valid Ontario G Class Driving License
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and/or holidays
- Experience working in a warehouse environment using forklifts and pallet trucks
- Produce handling experience an asset
- Comfortable working in and out of coolers
- Experience using manual inventory systems
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and have attention to detail
Responsibilities:
- Follow all work and food safety rules and procedures
- Operate equipment to unload or load produce in trailers, visually inspect and verify produce against the bill of lading
- Verify, record and prepare incoming produce inventory records
- Place produce in the appropriate temperature-controlled storage room
- Assist customers in retrieving their produce when requested
- Maintain a clean and organized facility
- Maintain professional conduct at all times
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required
Starting Wage: $24.97 per hour with dental and medical benefits after completion of the 3 months probationary period.
