Position Title: Heavy Equipment Technician (Off-Road) - Fly-In-Fly-Out
Salary Range: $66/hr-$77/hr over a 12 hour day
About the Client and Role:
We are on the hunt for an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician (off Road) to support the Maintenance Department at a growing mine in Northern Ontario. We need someone experienced working with off-road Construction equipment (the fleet is mostly CAT Loaders, Graders, Rock Trucks, Excavators, Skid-Steers, etc.). This is a fly-in, fly-out facility, with a 2 week on, 2 week off rotation, and will require day and night shifts. This is a Contract role to start however, we are looking for people interested in working Permanently as the client would like to hire F/T people. Pay is $56.00/hr-$66/hr plus overtime after 8 hours per day ($66.00/hr-$77.00/hr for a 12 hour work day), flights provided and camp accommodation. If interested, please get in touch right away.
D+A, Criminal Record Check, References, License for the Trade (JM/IPRS) required. Previous experience maintaining Mining-Grade equipment required; pay is based on previous experience.

Key responsibilities for this role will include:

Troubleshoot and repair of heavy duty and medium duty mining equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, graders, forklifts, skid steers, telehandlers, etc., by CAT, Sandvik, Tamrock and many others

The disassembly/overhaul of engines or engine components, transmissions, drive systems components and other assemblies

The diagnosis of equipment problems; identifying and replacing worn or broken parts as required, and making all necessary adjustments and alignments

Preventative maintenance

Keeping the shop clean
-
Other duties as required
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
-
A valid Heavy Equipment Technician/Heavy Duty Mechanic License with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in repair and service of heavy equipment both in the shop and in the field

Previous Mining or Heavy Industrial Experience

Proven track record in safe work practices and quality workmanship

Ability to work alone and unsupervised in remote areas

Focused, energetic and organized with superior attention to detail and a sense of urgency

Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude

Ability to understand and execute verbal and written instructions and to interpret technical manuals and specifications
