Department: Employement and Training
Reports to: Program Manager
Location: Hamilton, ON
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: TBD

Contract End Date: March 29, 2023
- Works safely, reports all workplace hazards and follows all YWCA Hamilton Health and Safety policies and procedures,
- Familiar with, and adheres to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, (OHSA) Workplace Safety Insurance Board Act (WSIB), Human Rights and Employment Standards Act (ESA);
- Participates in annual Health & Safety training provided by the YWCA;
- Attends and participates in staff/team meetings;
- Ensures compliance with YWCA Hamilton policies and procedures;
- Maintains high level of confidentiality/privacy when working with client information;
- Facilitates outreach, intake and recruitment for pre-apprenticeship training programs for participants and employer placements
- Promotes and markets the Pre-Apprenticeship Program; working with the Development department;
- Nurtures and forms meaningful internal and external working relationships and partnerships;
- Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards; · Understands emerging trends, leading practices, industry professional standards;
- Supports the YWCA Hamilton mission, vision and values;
- Performs other duties as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Works 37.5 -hour work week; mainly Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as required
Qualifications
- Must have current Emergency First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Equivalent to the completion of 2 years college in business administration, career development or human resources;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in skilled trades, or social services;
- Career Development Practitioner (CDP) or Job Development Professional (JDP) is an asset;
- Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle is required;
- Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
- Must be able to lead and work from a feminist, anti-racist / anti-oppressive perspective for operations and strategic planning;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Bilingual English/French or other languages an asset.
- Must provide a current Criminal record Judicial Matters or willingness to obtain at own cost;
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and also work effectively in a team.
