Under direction of the Estimation Supervisor, Technician, Inspection I shall evaluate, troubleshoot, disassemble, assemble, repair and/or inspect Endoscopes to assure proper function. Uses a variety of small hand tools and test equipment to make repairs and facilitate disassembly and reassembly. Completes and maintains accurate service records both electronically and manually. Ensures that safe work practices are employed by observing guidelines established or enforced by Olympus. May be assigned to support business needs by working in other areas outside their primary responsibility. Proactively participates in the quality systems, quality improvement and “5S” programs as directed by the Estimation Supervisor. Maintains confidentiality of documents and processes.
They are responsible to ensure that all repairs are completed within Mission Critical timelines and ensure the most productive use of the technician’s time. This position will impact on customer satisfaction and help create customers for life.
Inspection Technician I must accomplish these objectives while maintaining a clean, well-organized work environment. The Technician will be expected to maintain acceptable standards for attendance and punctuality, and as a condition of employment, work overtime as needed.
- Work in the Inspection Team to inspect and document all incoming and outgoing medical repairs and loaners to ensure they meet our standards.
Perform advanced diagnostics on the products using small hand tools and soldering for accurate inspection result.
Ensure the inspection is conducted in accordance with ES-WEB instructions
Create Estimates using Datasweep, assigning Labor codes for Major and/or Minor repairs
Maintain and improve productivity level to achieve daily/monthly Key Performance Indicator (KPI).
Understanding of DMN (Discrepant Material Notice) process for repair failures.
Participate and Support in training, as needed, to enhance product knowledge and awareness of Quality Management Systems.
Support and creation of Non-Conformance Report and Corrective Action Preventative Action.
May recommend changes in work instructions and standards to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
Adheres to all company policies, procedures, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and WIs (Work Instructions).
Understand and meet TSGG (Technical Service Global Guidelines) requirement.
Support all other groups in the Service and Repair department as needed.
Perform all other essential duties as directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma required. A graduate of a community college (1-2 year program) with a technology concentration preferred.
Willing to work overtime as required.
Service responsibilities include the handling of products and equipment that may have potentially come in to contact with blood or bodily fluids.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in technical repairs with mechanical and/or electronic equipment preferred
Knowledge of Health Canada regulations desirable.
Effective and timely communication both oral and written.
Must have good interpersonal skills.
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office and proficiency with other software programs.
Able to perform required duties with minimum supervision.
