Job Description:
Toyota Tsusho Canada Inc is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, the successful candidate will report directly to the Assistant Vice President. This role is primarily responsible for processing bi-weekly hourly and salary payrolls for our three sister companies. This position will also support our Accounting Department by assisting in the Account Payable function.
The successful Candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following payroll functions:
- Administer and process full cycle bi-weekly payrolls for approximately 350+ employees within 3 legal entities in the timelines required to ensure team members receive their pay as scheduled.
- Review timecards to ensure accurate reporting of hours
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records, including new hires, terminations, ROE’s, rate changes, garnishments, etc.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and accruals
- Compile year-end requirements, including process and reporting for T4, T4A’s, taxable benefits, EHT and WSIB
- Process and track taxable benefits including fitness reimbursements, educational assistance program, and safety shoe program, etc.
- Address team member inquiries concerning payroll and other related issues.
- Year End payroll duties, including vacation accrual payout, setting up accrual accounts for the following calendar year.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum two years’ experience processing payroll for 250+ employees in a manufacturing environment
- PCP certification or working towards
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
- Working knowledge of Payroll compliance, Employment Standards Legislation
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to interact with people at various levels of the organization.
- Must have strong working knowledge of Excel and Outlook
- Strong analytical skills
- Able to handle high stress situations due to tight deadlines and high workload.
- Strong client focus orientation.
- Must be able to work over-time when required, including holidays and weekends if necessary
- Experience working in JD Edwards is considered an asset
- Must be able to travel to Woodstock if necessary
