At the Border City Aboriginal Head Start Program we are dedicated to providing an exceptional early childhood development program that fosters growth, learning and provides a nurturing environment for young minds. We are currently seeking a versatile and caring individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant.
Position Overview:
As Administrative Assistant you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of program administration. The successful candidate will have exceptional organizational skills and provide essential support to our program.
Starting Wage:
30, 000 over ten months.
Monday to Friday with summers off.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage daily administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails and maintaining office supplies.
-Work with the Bookkeeper
-Organize and schedule appointments, meetings, and events for staff and faculty.
-Assist with basic HR functions, including maintaining employee records.
-Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to data protection regulations.
-Contribute to the overall efficiency and positive work environment of the company.
-Provide support for the classroom, kitchen, etc when required.
Qualifications:
-Proven experience as a Secretary/Receptionist
-Strong knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
-Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
-Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
-Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc).
Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Admin/Clerical is a plus.
-Previous experience in a similar role is required.
