YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand current and future talent needs and develop and execute effective recruitment strategies that align with Smythe's goals and target top-tier professionals in the industry.
- Continuously evaluating and improving the recruitment process, identifying bottlenecks or areas for optimization, and implementing innovative solutions and technologies to enhance efficiency and candidate experience.
- Building and maintaining a network of prospective candidates for future hiring needs, including passive candidates and potential talent for critical roles, and implementing talent pooling strategies.
- Utilizing various methods to attract high-quality candidates, including direct sourcing, networking, industry events, referrals, online platforms, and partnerships with educational institutions. Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals to create a pipeline of potential candidates.
- Reviewing resumes, conducting thorough interviews, and assessing candidates' qualifications, skills, experience, and cultural fit. Coordinate and conduct interviews with partners and hiring managers to ensure a rigorous and efficient selection process.
- Promoting our firm's brand and reputation as an employer of choice. Develop and implement employer branding initiatives, including targeted marketing campaigns, participation in industry events, thought leadership content, and partnerships with professional associations.
- Collaborating with the Marketing team, developing professional LinkedIn guidelines and establishing organizational norms to share messages on recruitment posts for greater visibility.
- Defining and promoting the organization's employee value proposition, highlighting potential candidates' unique benefits and value proposition, and ensuring consistency in messaging across various touchpoints.
- Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Management: Utilize our ATS to track candidate applications, manage recruitment workflows, and generate reports on recruitment metrics. Ensure the ATS is updated and optimized to support our firm's recruitment needs.
- Extending job offers to candidates, negotiating compensation and benefits packages.
- Collaborating with the P&C team and hiring managers to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, facilitating orientation programs, and creating an integration program to integrate new employees successfully.
- Staying abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor intelligence related to talent acquisition. Conduct research to understand salary benchmarks, emerging skillsets, and other factors influencing the talent market within professional services.
- Cultivating and maintaining relationships with external partners, including recruitment agencies, industry networks, and professional associations. Leverage these partnerships to access top talent and stay informed about industry developments.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and firm policies throughout recruitment. Stay updated on legal requirements and industry-specific regulations related to talent acquisition.
- Developing and analyzing recruitment metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies. Prepare regular reports for firm leadership, highlighting recruitment outcomes, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Overseeing the campus recruitment process and determining the best practices to adopt in order to create a time and investment-efficient program.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
- Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Manager or in a similar role within the professional services industry (e.g., consulting, accounting, law, etc.);
- Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices, sourcing techniques, and selection methods for professional services.
- Demonstrated expertise in working with the entire MS suite of products and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR databases is essential.
- Experience with implementing ATS software is preferred but not a requirement.
- Excellent understanding of employment laws and regulations applicable to the professional services industry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with professionals at all levels.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, external partners, and candidates.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Familiarity with professional services terminology and the ability to understand the specific skills and qualifications required for various roles within the industry.
- A personable and outgoing demeanour.
- A self-motivated team player who can take the initiative.
- Excellent professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
IN ADDITION, YOU'LL NEED TO
- Be present in person at your primary office location at least three days a week.
- Work additional hours during peak times.
- Occasionally travel to town to visit clients or attend meetings and events. As such, access to a vehicle is preferred.
- Work a set schedule for your work week to provide support to the practice groups.
