Principle Function:
The work consists of monitoring swimmers and ensuring that they observe the regulations of the pools to prevent accidents and to maintain discipline; helping swimmers in difficulty and providing first aid in case of an accident.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor swimmers in the pool to prevent accidents.
- Enforce existing regulations for the users of the pools and ensure discipline and good order.
- Help swimmers in difficulty and provide first aid.
- Receive, classify and distribute materials and various items used in pool maintenance.
- Participate in the seasonal and periodic cleaning of the premises.
- Compile periodic statements on the attendance of the swimming pools, the water quality, the maintenance of filters and products used for these purposes.
- Complete various forms at the pools.
- Undertake any other related duties.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Possess a valid National Lifeguard, CPR/AED certificate delivered by the Lifesaving Society.
- Possess a certificate 16 hour First Aid course given by a recognized organization.
- Bilingual English/French, other languages an asset.
