Hard Rock Concrete Supplies is a leader in concrete and tools. We offer our customers a full line of concrete supplies, hand tools, and power tools.
We are hiring for the position of purchaser. The position is ideal for that candidate that is currently an analyst, or assistant buyer, or in procurement, in retail hardgoods or related, wanting to move to the next level in their career. Deep experience in purchasing is not necessary. We are looking for someone who can grow with the job, work with our guidance, have a great work ethic, and become a strong long term contributor to the team.
We are happy to commit the time and energy for training and development for the right person. Patience and persistence is a must as this job is in a high paced, deadline driven environment.
Key attributes are:
Extremely detail oriented, ability to multi-task on high level.
Excellent communication skills
Intermediate or above level in Excel
Proficient in data management software
Team player, comfortable in small company setting, and willing to jump in and learn and help with other tasks and jobs when necessary.
Great listener who can absorb the information, translate to actionable items, and use their skills to support the team
Responsibilities will include, not limited to:
Purchasing: Retail store and manufacturing facility
-With guidance from the GM, plan and project purchases, on-hand levels, replenishment, vendor selection, and budgeting.
-First vendor contact and liaison
-Issuance and filing of PO's. Assist in receiving/matching shipments in system.
-Intuitive and open minded to mitigate supply shortages
-Participate and play key role in yearly vendor review and selection
-Willing to accelerate learning curve of product and industry knowledge
-New product and sourcing when necessary
-Some procurement for the fabrication shops
-Would play back up role for raw materials purchasing and estimating.
-Familiarity with QB desktop is an asset.
