Our AWIN Advanced Auto Body Centre is looking for an Auto Body Paint Prepper to join their amazing team!
Job Purpose
Restores auto body parts and the bodywork of damaged vehicles, based on the manufacturer’s and dealer’s quality standards and standard times.
Responsibilities
-
Operates and uses all body shop equipment correctly and safely.

Removes rust from metal and grease and filth from the work surface.
-
Masks and protects parts which are not to be painted or primed.
-
Mixes paint, according to its technical characteristics.
-
Chooses and mixes the primer, to achieve the desired colour.
-
Paints the surfaces, using a spray gun or brush, as required.
-
Examines the painted surfaces, to check the quality of the work and notes any runs, ripples or unpainted portions.

Heats the wax and sprays it on the products, after they have been tested.
-
Maintains the tools and ensures that the equipment is clean and in good functional condition.

Sees to the cleanliness of the work space.

Works with the other employees to repair and prepare the vehicles.

Maintains all personal protective equipment required for health and safety reasons, and wears it, including a respirator, according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Complies with all laws, regulations and bylaws regarding paints, thinners and other hazardous materials. Notifies management of any departure from these rules.

Understands, keeps abreast of and observes federal and provincial regulations and municipal bylaws governing body shop operations and occupational health and safety.

Following the standard operating procedure of the company.

Upholding the quality and standards of the services of the organization.

Timely completion of all tasks as per the specified deadline.

Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.

Maintains a professional appearance.
Qualifications
-
High school Diploma or equivalent.
-
Valid Ontario G Driver’s License.
-
Clear Driver’s Abstract.
-
Previous experience.
-
Ability to effectively manage time, meet deadlines and complete all assigned tasks.

Proven organizational skills.

Ability to work in a team and independently.

Sound understanding of all automotive functionalities.
