Countrywide Recycling Inc. is looking for an exceptional Lead Hand for its production lines. The candidate will work as a member of the team on the line and will be responsible to position and train all line workers. The candidate will be responsible to ensure that the company's health and safety policies are followed. Exceptional work ethic, organizational skills and a sense of humour are critical for this role; candidate must demonstrate ability to take ownership of tasks; conversational skills required; candidate will be responsible to assign workers in positions on the lines, to lead the after-production cleaning requirements, to resolve machine problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and ensure efficient operation of the lines; ensure that production goals are achieved and that product specifications are met. The candidate must show leadership qualities and be responsible to co-ordinate, train and supervise production line workers. Industrial dusty environment --- must wear respirator at all times and other PPE. Hot in the summer months and cold in the winter months -- building not temperature controlled.
Qualifications: Must have a minimum of Grade 12 education; previous experience as a Lead Hand or similar role is required; previous experience in maintenance and other related field is necessary; Highly safety-oriented with ability and willingness to carry out tasks in line with Safety Policy and Procedures.
Requirements: A minimum of 3 years' experience in a production line environment and dealing with high-speed machinery and a multicultural staff environment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and be physically fit. Must be fluent in English. French would be helpful. A mature outlook and good work ethic is essential. Must have own vehicle.
Shift: 6:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
