About the Role
Waterloo Garage Doors is hiring a Shop Floor Assistant. Duties include the following:
· Accept shipments
· Tag products
· Pick up goods (occasional driving Waterloo - Mississauga)
· Oversee loading and unloading of goods
· Plan pick-ups to ensure goods are not damaged during transport
· Check for damaged goods
· Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents and record shortages
· Unpack and route goods to appropriate area
· Stage product required for jobs, assemble tracks, cut springs
· Assist customers with part requests
· Keep shop area clean and well organized
· Overview work orders and ensure items ordered are fit for purpose
· Monitor stock levels of parts and order parts when appropriate
· Reconcile physical inventories with computer counts
· May operate forklift, hand truck or skyjack
The successful candidate will support our crew of installers. In addition to garage doors, our range of services includes garage door openers, rolling steel doors, docks and dock levelers, security shutters, screens, car hoists and more. This position requires the use of hand tools and other industrial applications. Familiarity with the products and services offered is considered an asset.
In Order to Join Our Team, You Must Have:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Service oriented with strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and excellent organizational skills
- Electrical or mechanical accreditations an asset
Experience working on overhead doors, electric openers, and dock levelers; working at heights and elevated platforms licenses are considered an asset.
