This position is at our newest location which is a 250,000 square foot warehouse opened in January 2022. This role is involved in the implementation and monitoring of processes and practices to achieve a safe and healthy working environment. This position will be hands on with implementing health and safety procedures.
WHAT WILL YOUR DAY LOOK LIKE?·
- Responsible for safety orientation and safety training.
- Maintain awareness and implement amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, risk assessments, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
- Maintain the safety program and all documentation required
- Conduct safety training to ensure compliance
- Coordinate inspections, investigations, and occupational safety activities with leadership
- Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified occupational safety programs.
- Act as a member of the Joint Health and Safety committee and coordinating meetings
- Provide training to managers and others on occupational safety issues
- All other duties assigned
WHAT DO YOU BRING?
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Safety certification training
- Three to five years' experience in an occupational health and safety role in an industrial establishment.
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
