Human Resources Manager
Ricki’s and cleo are seeking a Human Resources Manager to support our leaders and associates across our retail businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for a breadth of human resources activities and for providing guidance on HR policies and programs. This role reports directly to the VP of Human Resources, is supported by a dedicated HR Administrator and members of our human resources shared services team, and will collaborate with HR leaders from across our affiliated businesses.

What you’ll be a part of
Recruitment
- Developing internal and external job postings
- Pre-screening of resumes and applicants prior to providing to hiring managers
- Updating recruitment advertisements, interview guides and interview processes
Learning and Development
- Providing training for management on Ricki’s & cleo’s HR programs and policies
- Facilitating training on HR business initiatives and practices to the Store Operations team
- Promotion of Ricki’s & cleo’s learning and development opportunities
Compensation and Benefits
- Administration of the merit increase process, promotions, market adjustments and other wage related activities in coordination with the store operations team
- Coordinating with our payroll and benefits administration team to ensure the efficient flow of new hire paperwork, transfers, promotions and terminations, maintaining HR files, etc.
Health and Safety
- Providing managers, supervisors, and team members with the relevant information, training, and resources they need to carry out their health and safety responsibilities and actively take part in the implementation of the Health and Safety program
Absence and Disability Management
- Working with key stakeholders in all aspects of disability management including graduated return to work programs and accommodations
- Corresponding with team members, managers, and payroll team members to ensure all documentation is received and processed
Performance Management and Employee Relations
- Advising and assisting store operations leadership on interpretation and administration of Ricki’s and cleo’s guidelines, policies, and programs
- Assisting managers in addressing performance issues and identifying team member development requirements
- Providing support to supervisors and managers in performance management processes
- Researching Human Resources best practices and updating the business on provincial and human rights legislative changes
- Remaining current with new HR practices, management philosophies, techniques and tools
- Preparing of employee disciplinary documentation, termination letters; ensuring requests are processed in a timely and accurate manner
General Responsibilities
- Providing excellent service to internal and external customers on all HR inquiries and requests
- Providing leadership for office social committee activities; help plan and execute social activities for our office team
- Mentoring and supporting within the HR team; sharing knowledge and helping others grow
- Collaboration within the HR Team; contributing to overall strategy and leading projects/initiatives
What you bring
- Five or more years of experience in Human Resources
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources
- Previous experience in retail is a strong asset
- Experience or practical exposure to the payroll function is an asset
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Understanding and use of tact, discretion and confidentiality in all interactions
- Results orientation with attention to detail, with the proven ability to prepare comprehensive documentation
- Problem solving and resourcefulness
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of current Microsoft products
- Strong team work and interpersonal skills
