Position Purpose:
To welcome our guests to the hotel, assist with check in/check out process and provide a knowledge centre for our guest requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides and displays excellent guest service skills, as per Marriott standards
- Provides superior guest service upon check-in and check-out of each guest
- Responds to guest problems in a timely and professional manner, utilizing the empowerment process
- Completes daily shift task lists and audit reports
- Provides information to guests about the procedures, policies and facilities of the hotel
- Answers phone calls and takes messages on behalf of guests
- Maintains rate and inventory levels
- Provides operational support to all Front Office areas
- Responds to guest concerns and solicits guest feedback using the LEARN process
- Ensures guest safety and security by maintaining confidentiality of guest information, and handling guestroom keys and safety deposit boxes in a professional manner
- Maintains guest accounts.
- Issues guest receipts and completes cash transactions
- Attends and participates in the daily Front Office pre-shift meetings
- Undertakes special projects and other duties as assigned
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, Hospitality Management diploma or degree preferred
- Minimum of 6 months experience in a related position
- Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel is a must and knowledge of Lightspeed an asset
- Fluency in additional language(s) an asset
- Helpful, friendly and patient attitude
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Must have open availability on weekends (Saturday & Sunday) and at least one day on weekdays
