As an HR Advisor, you will provide hands-on support related to employee and labour relations matters, including the administration, interpretation and application of various policies, procedures and collective agreements. As a subject matter expert in HR, the leadership team will value your partnership in providing advice, guidance, and hands-on support through effective coordination of a wide range of HR services, to ensure each person receives the best in individualized, person centered care and that the organization maintains and grows its reputation for excellence.

Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:
- Timely and effective delivery of human resource services including but not limited to consultation and advice in all disciplinary and non-disciplinary matters, investigations, complaints, attendance management, performance management, health & safety and workplace accommodations to clients to ensure business objectives are met.
- Provide advice to clients in the areas of human rights, employee and labour relations, employment legislation, policies and procedures
- Provide employee and labour relations support (grievance administration, labour relations code, collective agreement interpretation, selection) as per the terms of the appropriated policies, procedures and collective agreements
- Guiding people managers with career conversations, Development Plans/Career Growth Plans and other development initiatives
- Support with implementation and administration of ad-hoc projects including but not limited to attendance management, workplace health & safety, recruitment, onboarding and employee engagement
Here’s how we’ll know you are the best fit:
- A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a university degree in Human Resources plus three (3) years of related experience, preferably in a union environment
- In a workplace setting, have demonstrated and applied understanding of Canadian employment legislation including but not limited to BC Employment Standards Act, Canadian and BC Human Rights legislation, BC OHS, & BC Privacy Act (PIPA)
- CPHR designation and previous understanding of the BC Health Care public sector Collective Agreements (HEABC) is considered an asset.
The role could be structured to be full-time or part-time.
