Our client, Waycon Manufacturing Ltd. is an industrial equipment and machinery manufacturer located in Penticton, BC. They specialize in building a wide variety of world-class equipment and machinery for customers across multiple industries in North America. Situated on over 2 acres of land, their facility is equipped with the latest in-house state-of-the-art tooling, equipment and engineering technology to provide a wide variety of manufacturing capabilities including concept design, CNC machining, fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly to testing.
They currently have an opportunity for a Red Seal Machinist to join their team. Suitable candidates will require experience programming and operating CNC machinery and should enjoy taking pride in work and have strong attention to detail to be able to meet their standards in quality and safety. Their CNC machining department is led by a group of highly experienced Red Seal machinists backed by commitment to quality and precision.
As the successful candidate you will come with the ability to Mastercam and setup CNC Machines as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues with cut quality and\or cutting efficiency.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Review drawings in metric and standard measurements;

Program, set up and run parts on machinery;

Inspect finished parts for quality and blueprint accuracy;

Clean and organize work area daily;

Use the overhead crane when necessary;

Perform other duties as assigned/required.

Previous experience working as a Journeyman Machinist;

At least 3 years of previous machine shop experience;

Strong programming and machining skills and abilities;

Self-motivated and ability to work effectively in team environment;

Dedicated to holding high quality and safety standards in workmanship;

Professional communication skills;

Strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness;

Able to interpret blueprints and part drawings.
