Position Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our research team at the Movement Disorders Clinic. The successful candidate will support on-going activities in our Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) program and clinical research in Parkinson’s disease, dystonia and other neurological conditions.
Duties
Working under the directions of the Principal Investigator, Clinical Research Manager and other senior staff members the Clinical Research Study Assistant’s (CRSA) responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Venipuncture/blood draws, extensive sample processing and shipment of samples according to clinical protocols or SOPs
- Coordination of patient visits
- Approaching patients for consent to research
- Assist with skin biopsy (e.g. have collection tubes ready) , sebum collection and other study procedures
- Administration of questionnaires and/or other data collection tools
- Collecting and maintaining study patient data (including data entry)
- Executing study-related administrative tasks, e.g. completion of study CRFs, maintain databases, regulatory files and etc.
- Support team members in study preparation as needed, e.g. prepping laboratory draw kits
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, or recognized equivalent, in a health or science-related discipline

Minimum three (3) months related experience; clinical research experience preferred

Knowledgeable with ICH-GCP guidelines

Experience handling and processing biospecimen samples preferred

Certification of competency in venipuncture is preferred

Ability to work under pressure and attention to detail
