Job Summary
Titanium is seeking a reliable, independent individual to assist with ensuring that all shipments meet the applicable legal standards to facilitate the efficient transport of goods for our clients. The Customs Clerk will work as a member of our Operations Team to assist in customs, directing and supporting multiple parties to ensure timely clearance of goods. The clerk will possess the ability to read paperwork thoroughly and identify key characteristics in order to process ACE and ACI documents. The position will entail a candidate with strong clerical abilities to work in a face-paced environment with resilient computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel. The Customs Clerk must have strategic preparation of all customs documents to ensure that shipments that are imported or exported meet all applicable laws so that entry or export can occur rapidly with precise accuracy.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Working as part of a team and reporting to the Customs Manager, utilizing electronic customs systems to generate clearance certifications for cross-border shipments with assigned applications, internal software and border connect
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Maintaining a working knowledge of import and export laws and regulations as they change and apply to the current cross-border model
- Liaise directly with customers and act as account manager to ensure customer service requirements are understood and fulfilled
- Post bonds for products imported or assist clients in obtaining bonds
- Required to prepare the necessary import documentation such as certificates of origin and cargo control documents.
- Ability to be flexible and work extended hours as required
Job Requirements
- This position is for an entry-level customs professional who is able to meet performance deadlines and adhere to all client requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of individuals
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Proficient with the use of a computer, including Microsoft Office Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong understanding of the transportation industry and associated laws
- Experience working with customers through various means of communication and ability to manage customer relations
Position Details
- Day shift: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Afternoon shift: Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm
- Night shift: Monday to Thursday from 8:00 pm - 6:30 am
- Friday to Sunday from 10:00 pm to 10:00 am
- Office environment - no remote work available
