The role we are offering you:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President Flight Services & Global Operations, the incumbent develops, communicates, and executes strategies and objectives for the Global Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing and Facilities processes to deliver quality products and services in a customer satisfaction manner and to drive business growth.
Provides leadership and direction to the operational activities of the organization with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability as well as day to day management to all company operations functions, which include Hardware Engineering, Planning, Estimating, Inventory management, Fabrication, Assembly & Test, Manufacturing-Engineering, Maintenance (Equipment and Building), Environment, Health, and Safety management.
Develop Strategic plans:
-
Develop the Global Hardware Engineering & Manufacturing strategic plan and executes to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiencies throughout this organization.

Develop the Global Facilities strategic plan and executes to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiencies throughout business units.
-
Deploy Corporate EHS Strategic plan for Montreal Facility and ensure the development of the MTL EHS strategy plan accordingly.

Develop the yearly business and budget plan to formalize the planning process and produce corporate, departmental, and individual objectives.

Develop and implement long range strategies for expanding Global Hardware Engineering & Manufacturing capabilities to meet Company and client needs.
Execute Strategic plans and drive continuous improvement:
-
Drive global HW Engineering and Manufacturing improvement to achieve and surpass profitability, business goals and objectives.

Drive global Facilities improvement to achieve and surpass profitability, business goals and objectives.
-
Drive EHS improvement and act as the Environment, health & safety champion for the Montreal facility ensuring that the culture focuses, supports and rewards health & safety as a priority.

Lead managers to evaluate and take actions that are consistent with the company’s overall strategy.

Provides leadership and guidance to staff for developing innovative methodologies to improve operations and deliver cost-effective performance on programs and projects.

Leads, organizes, and motivates all operations professionals in a manner that positions the HW Engineering, Manufacturing, Facilities and EHS teams to assume a strategic role.

Foster good relationship with the Unifor union to achieve mutually beneficial and sustainable solutions that effectively promote healthy labor relationships and contribute to the company’s bottom line.

Ensures the effectiveness of HW Engineering & manufacturing and implements projects on time to achieve complete customer satisfaction, meet project completion dates and margin goals.

Ensure the Development of key performance indicators and other quantifiable measurement tools to track results of department activities and regularly reports to top management.

Develop and control the HW Engineering, Manufacturing & Facilities budgets.
Develop and manage internal client/upper management relationship:

Work with GSS team to address supply chain shortages via re-design by the HW team.
-
Optimize common inventory by working with businesses, GSS and the hardware engineering team obsolescence management plan.
-
Establish and maintain effective partnering relationships within the Business units, including Group Presidents, Sales, and Marketing, GSS and internal support organizations and with external customers.

Work closely with the Global Technology and Product (GTP) leadership team.

Direct third-party vendors and consultants where required to support operational changes and program implementations.
Our ideal candidate has:

Bachelor’s degree in related field
-
Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience
-
Proven experience in managing innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing.
-
Proven experience managing all stakeholders through implementation and change.
-
Proven experience in budgeting, project management, operations, and human resources.

Understanding of P&L financial statements, supply chain management and business optimization programs, sustainability, Return on Capex Employed

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude.

Global leadership and highly effective relationship management.

Strong ability to provide skilled and practical guidance.

Capacity to operate at strategic and tactical levels.

Expertise in streamlining processes, driving innovation, and securing cost savings.
