Position Title: Human Resources Coordinator

FIFE HOUSE is an AIDS service organization providing supportive housing and support services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
The organization is seeking a dedicated and tenacious individual to fill the role of Human Resources Coordinator. This role requires you to work 16 hours per week (2 full days with 8 hours shifts) in office. The Human Resources Coordinatorwill provide support to the People & Culture Department in order to foster an inclusive and supportive culture at Fife House.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative support to the People & Culture Department.
- Assist with tracking and updating human resources information, including performance appraisals, training & development, staff movement, etc.
- Prepares written human resources correspondence
- Provides staff members with information regarding human resources policies and procedures when required
- Coordinates recruitment activities (posting jobs, resume review, organizing interviews, reference Checks)
- Coordinate staff onboarding activities (Prepare orientation packages and communications)
- Coordinate training activities in conjunction with managers
- Assists with the preparation of HR metrics
- Assists with human resources ad hoc projects
- Prepares orientation packages, including printing, photocopying and packaging
- Ensures all human resources documents are filed and stored in an orderly manner
- Group benefits administration and assist in WSIB claim application
- Assist in employee relations matters and employee engagement initiatives as required
- Other ad-hoc projects and HR initiatives
Qualifications:
- Degree in a Human Resources or a related discipline from a recognized college/university or equivalent professional qualifications.
- 1-3 years’ experience in a similar position or environment
- Knowledgeable of Human Resources best practices, Employment Standards Act (ESA), Human Rights Code, AODA, Occupational Health & Safety
- Must have an interest in working in a unionized environment
- Knowledgeable and experience using HRIS to input data and create reports
- Well-developed interpersonal skills that will facilitate effective, productive and appropriate relationships with staff of Fife House
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- High level of confidentiality, diplomacy and integrity
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities
- Attention to details
- Ability to work on own initiative and work well in a team
- Demonstrated successful experience working with diverse populations
- Strong computer skills - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and documentation software
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment
- HR Certification or working towards certification
