The Robotics Technician role is responsible for managing, testing, and evaluating data to assist in the development of improving operations, automation, welding processes, welding techniques, and procedures. At AMS our manufacturing process is aimed towards improving quality, delivery, productivity, and most importantly safety.

Robotics Technician – Automation & Robotics
Location: Brampton, ON, Canada

Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Automation / Industrial | Electrical Controls / Related Field
- Minimum of 2 Years of Experience. Preferably in Automation Manufacturing Environment / Robotics.
- Experience with SPOT & MIG welding (asset)
- Hands-on experience programming robots (Fanuc/Motoman, ABB)
- Experience using ROBOGUIDE - FANUC Robot Simulation Software (asset)
- Understanding of IO, transfer of information between Robot and PLC
- Minimum experience and understanding of electrical circuitry and wiring.
- Mechanical ability to work on robot dress packages and peripheral equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings, diagrams, and schematics.
- Working Knowledge of MS Office, FTP Voyager, SolidWorks, or similar software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Attention to detail; tight deadlines, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Adept to change and constant improvement.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to successfully engage and interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create offline programming applications files using ROBOGUIDE.
- Configure robot IO, weld interface, and program call.
- Program/teach robot paths on Spot welding or Mig welding application.
- Run peripherals from the robots teach pendant, i.e.: tip dressers, torch cleaners, trunnions, dial tables.
- Basic safety setup on DCS on Dnet and Enet platform
- Understand robot drawings and configurations.
- Participate in Buy-off and PHSR (Pre-Start Health and Safety Reviews) events.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
- Ability to travel for day, overnight, and/or extended periods.
- Create and maintain a standard work document and library.
- Identify potential improvements and provide solutions; ensure quality control.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
