ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Occupational Health & Safety expert who is passionate about the industry to mentor aspiring Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) professionals as OHS Instructor at our North York Campus
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Observe students to determine qualifications, limitations, abilities, interests, and other individual characteristics
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicate those objectives effectively to students
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs, abilities, and interests
- Prepare students for further education by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks
- Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities in advance
- Instruct students in groups, using various teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations
- Provide clear, precise, and consistent direction and support to students
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be willing to work as a part of a collaborative and growing team· Excellent track record in service & support
- Exceptional track record in communication, influence, collaboration, and teamwork
- Experience in an environment which requires "out of the box" thinking
- Previous training and/or facilitation experience considered an asset
- Ability to complete tasks effectively with minimal supervision
- Satisfactory CPIC Criminal Background Check and Employment References
- Proven ability to set and achieve goals· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Occupational Health & Safety Diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience working in Occupational Health & Safety
Hours of Work:
- 9:00 am - 1:00 pm / 6:00 pm -10:00 pm
