WHO YOU ARE:
As an experienced professional with knowledge of various commercial industries, you are outstanding when it comes to credit writing, financial statement analysis, and loan/lease structuring.

We are looking for someone who is able to provide exceptional service and responsiveness within CWB Maxium’s business line functions of credit underwriting, loan applications and recurring credit review processes. In this team lead role, you will have the opportunity to provide mentorship and guidance to a team of credit analysts and support their development and career growth.

Credit Structuring: You will analyze, discuss, recommend and approve terms and conditions of credit applications and related matters with sales and large deal review committee. You will make/prepare recommendations for approval, restructuring, or deferral.
Risk management: You will apply your risk management skills to ensure compliance with various first-line risk management functions, workflows and policies of the CWB Maxium business divisions, including data integrity, portfolio quality and approval requirements. You will complete funding/documentation review and satisfaction of credit specific conditions.
Relationship builder. Confirmed ability to build and maintain relationships with management, employees, and partners to enhance professionalism and productivity.
Support: You will review and prepare annual credit reviews on assigned portfolio of loans/leases. You will review amendments seeking approval to modify the original transaction security or other credit conditions.
Lifelong Learner. The ongoing, voluntary, and self-motivated pursuit of knowledge.
FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Ten years of financial services experience within the functions of risk management, banking and/or commercial lending plus an undergraduate degree in business, commerce, finance or an accounting field.
Five years experience in direct leadership roles and managing teams.
Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline is required. MBA/CFA is considered an asset.
CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS
Financially savvy. Practiced skills in financial statement analysis and concrete know how of effective risk mitigation strategies for credit underwriting. Keen understanding of financial calculations including present value & amortization schedules.
Effective communication. You can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You have refined your mediation, influencing and collaboration skills. You can articulate complexities in a clear & efficient manner.
A great support. You provide guidance and mentorship to your colleagues in areas like risk assessment, credit underwriting, credit structuring and credit presentation skills. You are a well-rounded teammate and love to work collaboratively. You see the value in working together and have achieved many professional wins because of this mentality.
