As we grow, we are currently seeking candidates for a Below The Wing Coordinator based in Winnipeg, MB. This career is a part of the overall Flightcraft Team, and is an integral part of the Leadership Group within the company.
JOB SUMMARY:
The BTW Coordinator is an accountable “Below the Wing” position that will work under the direction of the Manager (BTW) and/or Station Manager to ensure all aspects of aircraft handling are completed according to specific company policies and procedures. This includes but is not limited to; All client carriers as well as ad-hoc and FBO Customers. Safety, attention to detail, following company procedures, and teamwork are key components to be a successful Coordinator. Leadership and team management capabilities are essential for the successful candidate. The ideal candidate must possess verbal and written communication skills, be energetic, outgoing, understanding and accepting of change. He/She must also be flexible and able to deal with the adapting nature of aviation, including overnight call-outs to the company mobile phone.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure, sort, load, unload baggage and cargo from flights as per carrier policy.
- Manage a varying amount of flights per shift.
- Engage the BTW work team to meet Service Level Agreements and carrier policies.
- Advise Management of no-show or late team members and productivity issues.
- Manage shift schedules and address no-show, lates, sick calls, including replacement team members.
- Create shift schedules for local BTW activities.
- Provide direction to HR when hiring and/or termination and/or discipline required.
- Ensure local BTW budgets are met and/or bettered.
- Delegate tasks as required; Manage downtime productivity with your team.
- Delegate flight duties, per flight and ensure accountability.
- Be hands-on and work with the team to ensure that safety and efficiency are priority.
- Complete necessary FOD walks, pre/post flight briefings, workplace inspections, etc.
- Sort, load, unload baggage and cargo from flights.
- Connect, disconnect ground power/bridge power from Aircraft.
- Marshall aircraft to and from gate, parking stands.
- Wing walk arrivals and departures.
- Complete aircraft grooming.
- Complete aircraft towing and/or brake riding.
- Work with all co-workers and customers (ATW, BTW, Fueling, Deicing) to ensure strategic and efficient use of your team.
- Ensure the safe operation of all GSE and related equipment and report violations.
- Ensure daily inspection of all equipment is complete, and DSI logs complete.
- Ensure GSE and related equipment is serviced, kept clean and useable at all times.
- Ensure GSE is parked in its authorized locations.
- Complete equipment deficiency and hazard reports as required.
- Perform de-icing operations and manage multi-truck de-icing operations (if applicable).
- Perform after hours de-icing operations on a call-out basis (if applicable).
- Complete and ensure accuracy of MVT Reports
- Attent all required training sessions and successfully complete training courses.
- Actively participate in company and air carrier safety programs.
- Communicate changes in policy too the ramp team as they occur.
- Work as a team member in a safe, efficient, professional manner.
- Mentor, train and build new team members experience and expertise.
- Adhere to, and manage published uniform standards and PPE requirements.
- Complete customer baggage and/or cargo deliveries as required.
- Follow all safety guidelines and safe workplace procedures.
- Follow Company SMS Program – Safety; First, Last, Always.
- Must be available on-call for emergency and non-standard requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent experience (Post Secondary Education preferred).
- Minimum five (5) years existing Ramp and/or Supervisor Experience or equivalent experience.
- Current criminal record check required.
- Current Restricted Area Pass (RAIC).
- Current AVOP/DA .
- Knowledge of aviation and its related terms, short forms and verbiage.
- Must have valid drivers license with clean abstract.
- Ability to speak, write and understand the English language.
- Must have excellent team player competencies.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, and/or in a team environment working varied and/or split shifts.
- Must be able to supervise the team, working on varying air carrier ops procedures.
- Must be able to manage and engage conflict resolution procedures when required.
- Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work on-call ad report to the airport within 45mins for callouts.
- Must communicate all concerns to management.
- Must maintain a professional and experienced level of service with all FAS customers.
