Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent is responsible for Supervision of the inbound and outbound LTL operations in the warehouse.
Shift: 4pm to 12 midnight
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Accountability for productivity and efficiencies of the staff. Ensures compliance with company processes and procedures. Responsible for routing and building efficient loads. Ensures all freight is unloaded and loaded in a safe and timely manner. Maintains regular communication with Managers and Dispatch regarding service/delivery issues. Provides direct supervision of Warehouse staff and ensures staff are adequately trained to perform their duties in an effective and safe manner. Reports all damage to equipment or shipments, ensuring photographs and reports are completed. Maintains a clean, organized and safe dock environment. Other Duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3 years in the transportation, logistics or distribution sector. Supervisory experience considered an asset, preferably in a union environment. Post-secondary education preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Self-motivated and works well in a team environment. Ability to effectively handle multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of the Edmonton area.
