We currently have an opportunity for a Manager, Business Sales & Service to join our team in Steinbach. As the Manager, Business Sales & Service you will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of organizational strategy, developing and implementing operational plans, delivering business results, leading a team of Business Account Managers and Support Officers, ensuring compliance related to business lending activities and other business services.
- Participate in the development of corporate vision and strategy and leverage the information to create and execute on operational plans
- Partner with others across the organization to clarify priorities, apply systems thinking, and assign resources to drive results
- Develop and communicate relevant metrics to demonstrate progress towards agreed upon goals and targets
- Develop, maintain and model a thorough knowledge of credit union policies, procedures and corporate values
- Act as a change leader for major change initiatives in support of business needs
- Provide back up support and coverage for the Manager, Corporate Sales and Service Steinbach and Chief Corporate Sales Officer or peers as required
- Work with other team leaders to foster a collaborative environment
- Foster a strong team environment that will attract, retain and develop existing and potential staff
- Provide day to day functional leadership to the Business Sales and Service team
- Ensure functional services are provided efficiently and effectively throughout the organization while meeting compliance requirements
- Resolve service related issues and/or complex business lending problems referred by staff, escalating those outside of authority level or scope of influence
- Partner and coach Business Account Managers and Support Officers to build and strengthen relationships with members
- Provide guidance to staff related to both overdraft and soft delinquency management
- Ensure appropriate distribution of the business portfolios across team members to ensure high levels of member service and operational effectiveness
- Leverage reporting and metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and root causes of performance issues
- Review credit worthiness and ensure profitability of business lending requests when presented by staff, make recommendations for modifications, approve/decline request (when within lending authority) and/or counsel on next steps
- Recognize and encourage behaviors within the team that focus on efficiency; champion continuous improvement throughout the organization, providing input into the development and/or modification of corporate lending policies/procedures and best business practices in partnership with peers and leadership
- Actively participate in the development of functional budgets, operational plans and business cases; ensure staffing levels and discretionary spending remains within budgeted levels
- Ensure staff adhere to applicable service level agreements (SLAs) and partner with leaders of stakeholder groups to maintain, review and modify SLAs as needed
- Achieve targets by ensuring Business Account Managers, Support Officers and other employees have the tools, information and training they require to deliver results
- Stay abreast of external trends, uncertainties, and economic conditions that may have short/long term impact; identify market opportunities to grow SCU’s core business and diversify revenues where appropriate; actively network with potential referral sources, existing members to enhance existing relationships, and with potential members to develop new profitable relationships
- Actively participate in professional development courses, conferences and learning activities beyond required training; promote continuous learning to staff members
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of job related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Systems thinking

- Advanced knowledge of Risk Management principles
