We are looking for a National Freight Distribution Manager for our Contract Logistics division based in Mississauga.As a National Manager you will support our transportation strategy, develop transportation initiatives, manage budgets, information flow, promote our company culture and provide a driving vision for the team. Reporting to the Director of Transportation, you will oversee industry compliance; business development; customer satisfaction; cost effectiveness and coaching and leading the team. You will collaborate with regional operations management and cross functional teams to ensure proposed projects match operational capabilities and oversees integration of strategic plans. You will also be responsible for Transportation's financial performance against our goals; the full continuous improvement strategy for the department, while managing over 30 carrier relationships both Inbound and Outbound, ensuring cost effectiveness and industry compliance.

Key responsibilities to manage the Pricing, Integration & Implementation, Operations & administration teams.

Direct staff supervision, cost management, on-time service performance, engagement with carriers, and financial management within the respective teams.

Review current transportation operations to develop and implement processes for efficient and optimised department productivity, product quality and customer satisfaction.

Support the operational integration of newly acquired clients

Plan & action rate requests; Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Request for Quote (RFQ) to ensure completion

Use specific knowledge of the logistics market, trends and capabilities to identify areas for cost reduction and savings opportunities.

Manage, visit and challenge vendors to seek out new ideas ensuring efficient, reliable and cost-effective relationships.

Measure adherence of performance to service standards and look for ways to improve customer satisfaction with service offerings.

Lead process-improvement projects, efforts and drive cross-functional teams to enhance customer experience. Help guide objective decisions based on the benefit to the entire network and business processes. (Visibility, KPI
- Development, QBR formats).

Support in identifying and pursuit of new business opportunities.

Ensure Compliance with Kuehne + Nagel's QSHE requirements, including all relevant regulations and Good
- Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines for drugs and health products (where applicable).

Develop product roadmap following industry best practice.

P&L responsibility for Business Unit.

Participate and support all Transportation related projects.

- 10+ years of Transportation Management Experience overseeing commercial carriers and Transportation Operations.

Senior management experience; ability to bring value through strategic collaboration with a senior leadership team

Must have experience managing transportation spend of $60M+.

Experience with Transportation Management Systems and Fleet Operations.

Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

University Degree and CITT or CCLP designation

Experience managing rate negotiations and transport data accuracy.
