We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Senior Data Analytics Developer who is a team player and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment to join our team.
The successful candidate will have an advanced understanding of Data Analytics solutions and play a key role in designing, building out and supporting StandardAero's modern cloud-based Enterprise Data Analytics architecture (Power BI and Snowflake), along with supporting and migrating legacy BI solutions to our new Analytics platform.
As a Senior Data Analytics Developer, you have deep experience in data analysis, data transformation, data modelling and Power BI report / dashboard development. Using this skillset, you will work with the Data Analytics team and Business Stakeholders to gather and analyze data from a variety of sources, then develop enterprise data models and innovative reporting / analytics solutions which empower the organization to make data driven decisions. In this role you will be actively involved in key business initiatives and play an integral part in the organization's digital transformation initiative.
What you'll do:
- Power BI expert who actively collaborates and shares knowledge with team.
- Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design, develop and deploy Power BI solutions (emphasis on data accuracy, scalability and reliability)
- Support and enhance existing Power BI reports and dashboards based on new business requirements.
- Create and maintain ELT processes to combine and transform data from multiple data sources (solving complex data transformation requirements)
- Design, optimize and maintain Power BI data models.
- Perform data validation to ensure data accuracy.
- Ensure data access is secure by enforcing the organizations security policies.
- Assist with user acceptance testing and training for newly developed data sets, reports and dashboards.
- Provide SME technical guidance and support to business users on BI reporting requests.
- Follow best practices for Data Analytic report/visualization development and data management.
- Assist with the implementation of enterprise governance frameworks and methodologies for data management and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve helpdesk tickets related to ETL processes, data models and reports/dashboards to ensure business operations run smoothly.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of company business processes and the data they create, acting as a technical resource when needed.
- Self-motivation to stay current with the latest trends in Power BI, Snowflake and emerging Data Analytics technologies.
What skills you will require:
- Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- 7+ years of hands on experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards and apps using leading visualization techniques.
- 5+ years of data modeling experience in an enterprise data warehouse setting (structuring tables, attributes, and relationships)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI architecture: Power BI desktop, Power Query, DAX, M, paginated reports and Power BI Service configuration / management.
- Experience developing ETL processes and understanding of Change Data Capture (CDC).
- Experience creating stored procedures, views and functions for data aggregation/manipulation.
- Advanced SQL and data querying skillset for data sampling, exploration, and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience working with relational databases: (Snowflake, Oracle, SQL, DB2)
- Experience with REST APIs, SSIS and SSAS.
- Ability to quickly understand existing architecture and also master new technology and concepts.
- Must be able to follow software development processes and work in an Agile environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions, identify data required and provide estimate of effort required.
- Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on our company's success.
- Good time-management and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Desire to continuously improve StandardAero's systems while phasing out legacy systems.
