We are currently recruiting a Lead Hands to assist our Concrete division with fast-paced, challenging projects in Edmonton, AB. The Lead Hand will report to the Site Superintendent.

Duties/Responsibilities

Maintains a level of professionalism on job sites and demonstrates a positive attitude and working climate, with an emphasis on health and safety.

Assist the Concrete Foreman in engaging field crew in daily preparation processes.

Understand project information and be able to identify obstacles and opportunities for our phase of work.

Understand production goals for each task and manages to achieve them.
-
Help to prepare crew to execute work as planned and scheduled.

Ensure the crew has staged equipment, materials, and tools for optimal output.

Assist the Concrete Foreman for ensuring project execution goals are met for their portion of work.

Communicate project status in a timely and accurate manner to all appropriate parties.

Will assist the Concrete Foreman in their absence and take on additional responsibilities as needed when required.

Continuously monitors all works against job specifications to ensure the quality and accuracy of the work performed.

Constantly works toward eliminating deficiencies.

Maintains constant communication with Site Foreman and informs immediately of any deficiencies – mistakes, errors, contamination, or damages (property or equipment etc.)

Communicates with the Project Coordinator or Foreman if and as soon as any problem arises between the sub-contractors.

Proven experience as construction foreman

In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OH&S guidelines

Ability to communicate and report effectively

Aptitude in math

Problem-solving abilities

Familiarity with safe work procedures, safety regulations, valid first aid ticket an asset

Computer skills (excel, word, outlook) considered an asset
Requirements

High-rise construction experience would be considered an asset

Fall Protection ticket considered an asset (we can provide)

WHMIS 2015 required (we can provide)

Journeyman trade ticket considered an asset
