What you will be doing
-
Process weekly and bi-weekly Time & Attendance (T&A) payroll including additional payments for Maple Lodge Farms (MLF) hourly and salaried employees.

Perform, accurate & timely, T&A review and edits for all MLF union and non-union payroll.

Complete bi-weekly and monthly Accounts Payable Payroll & associated tasks for Health Benefit costs.

Audit and validate new hires, termination and other changes processed by HR in HRIS System.

Process editing & associated tasks for Live Haul Drivers.

Fold and sort weekly pay statements.
-
Complete payroll bank and monthly general ledger reconciliations.

Monitor and maintain office stationary & statement sealer for Payroll department.

Prepare invoices and billings at Month End for all charge backs to union.

Train supervisors and managers on Kronos T&A.

Validate payroll information; prepare and amend Records of Employment (ROEs), respond to or refer queries to the appropriate authority for resolution.

Assist with upcoming T&A Project & other special projects assigned.

Create, maintain, and update procedure manuals for standard operating procedures.

Provide cross-training & back-up support to ensure uninterrupted payroll during any leaves.

Other duties as assigned (the above duties are representative but not inclusive).
What you will bring

Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation preferred or working towards completion.

Data entry experience plus minimum 2 years’ experience processing payroll, and sound technical knowledge with in-house payroll processing.

High School Diploma required.

Familiarity with Ontario Employment Standards compliance (ESA).

Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to prioritize and work effectively autonomously with little or no supervision.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential.

Computer literacy (MS Office).
