The Dufresne Group is currently seeking an Intermediate Backend Software Developer for our eCommerce Team within our Home Office located at 147 Commerce Drive in Winnipeg, MB . This is a Hybrid In Office/Work from Home role.
As an Intermediate Backend Software Developer you will be responsible for developing the backend system and working closely with our front-end development team to build and make changes that support our website, which is integrated with the Shopify Plus platform and other third-party systems.

As the Intermediate Backend Software Developer you will:
Design, develop, and maintain high-performing backend services and APIs using .NET technologies.
Provide estimations for requested features and work on Azure DevOps, following agile processes.
Develop and maintain a Shopify App as a Shopify Sales Channel.
Write, clean, and document code that is easy to follow, modular in design, and follows best practices.
Set up, configure, and build complex databases, including data structure normalization, query optimization, security, and integrity.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address system bottlenecks, performance issues, and security vulnerabilities and provide technical support where required.
As a successful candidate you will have the following:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science, programming, software development or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
5+ years of experience in ASP.NET, .NET Core, MVC and entity framework, C# for back-end development is an asset.
Strong proficiency with C# and.NET framework, with experience in ASP.NET, Web API, and Entity Framework.
Familiarity with database design, optimization, and querying using SQL Server or similar databases.
Understanding of the Shopify API, or the ability to learn the Shopify API quickly is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS is an asset.
Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Works well in a team environment and effectively collaborates on complex projects.
Critical thinker and problem solver, with strong attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.
