CareCorp Seniors Services is long-term care, assisted living and independent living staffing provider, operating at over twenty-two locations across British Columbia and employing more than two thousand healthcare workers.
We are looking for a Regional Human Resources Coordinator to join our team in assisting with the Human Resource needs of our Interior Care Facilities located in Kelowna, Vernon, Armstrong and Salmon Arm.
This is a full-time permanent hybrid position: Monday - Friday (0800-1600 or 0900-1700)
The expectation is that you would work three (3) days per week from home and two (2) days per week from our Kelowna long-term care facility, Spring Valley Care Center.
Applicants MUST have their own vehicle and be willing to drive to our homes in Vernon, Armstrong and Salmon Arm for on-site support as needed. Possibly 1 day per month.
This position is a mid-level opportunity for anyone with at least one year of experience in human resources or for someone who has recently completed their CPHR.
Core Responsibilities
- Processes changes in employment statuses, including resignations, retirements, extended unpaid leaves, and changes in employment status. Communicates all changes to appropriate departments and contacts.
- Maintains personnel records by updating changes in personnel information in CareCorp Seniors Services Human Resources Information System/Workforce Management System and electronic filing system. Communicates all changes in personnel records to appropriate departments and contacts.
- Communicates in writing and in person to staff with respect to personnel matters, including employment changes, leaves, queries, and follow-ups.
- Assists onsite leadership in the performance management process by collecting personnel data, scheduling meetings, and drafting written correspondences.
- Answers general employee inquiries, forwarding to appropriate facility or corporate contacts where necessary.
- Provides employment verification documentation for all frontline personnel.
- Generates personnel related reports as requested by facility management and the Corporate Team.
- Tracks important dates, including but not limited to, expected employee return, leave commencements, leave extensions or changes in employment status.
- Case manages short-term and long-term leaves of absences, including requests for follow-up documentation (i.e., medical) and coordinates return-to-work plans in collaboration with the department manager and the Workforce Planning Team.
- Assists the department manager and the Director of Occupational Health & Safety in workplace incident and injury investigations and claims management.
- Conducts regular electronic and physical file audits.
- Onboards new employees as directed by the department manager and the Talent Acquisition Team.
- Assists, when necessary, the Talent Acquisition Team in conducting reference checks and license/registration/certification verifications.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma in a related field or a minimum of one year’s experience in human resources (preferred, preferably within the healthcare sector)
