The bigger picture
We’re looking for an innovative and motivated person to come on board as a Manager, Venture Capital Finance & Operations for a 18-month term. You will work with a rock-star team that has experience operating high-growth VC backed businesses, top-tier professional services, and deep experience across the investing spectrum. You will learn through mentorship and osmosis as you participate in all aspects of the fund lifecycle.

How you’ll be spending your time
The Manager, Venture Capital Finance & Operations will be responsible for leading and executing on the following critical functions.
Portfolio Valuations & Support
- Collect, compile, and analyze information from portfolio companies for key stakeholders, including performance commentary, quarterly investor letter, Annual Meeting content and deal announcements.
- Lead quarterly net asset valuation process to determine fair-market value of each underlying investment.
- Lead creation of quarterly financial statements.
Fund Operations
- Lead Fund operations including working with both external and internal partners with respect to delivering:
- Reporting obligations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Certainty of compliance to policies and controls.
- Design and maintenance of frameworks and policies to manage risks.
- Creation and maintenance of banking relationships and accounts to manage settlement of funds.
- Work closely with Finance and Compliance, Marketing, and Communications teams to ensure alignment and delivery of VC team objectives.
- Provide oversight to outsourced fund administrator, including oversight of financial statement preparation, NAV statement preparation, carried interest waterfall, etc.
- Lead annual audit process by working closely with internal teams, auditor and fund administrator, to ensure it’s completion in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that the Investment Advisory Committee, and Investment Committees are operating effectively and in compliance through establishment of governance protocols and maintenance of records.
- Lead the teams efforts with respect to ecosystem stakeholders, investors, advisors
Fund Governance
- Ensure the Limited Partnership Advisory Committee are operating effectively and in compliance through establishment of governance protocols and maintenance of records.
- Work closely with the internal Governance team to ensure the CVC Inc Board is operating effectively and efficiently through establishment of governance protocols and maintenance of records.
Investor Engagement & Reporting
- Handle investor relations responsibilities including regular financial reporting and written and verbal communication of management discussion and analysis regarding funds’ performance.
- Provide fund manager updates both in-person meetings and by written communication to both existing and prospective investors
- Maintain day-to-day investor support including responding to questions, managing investor accounts, and settling both investment proceeds, ensure tax requirements are met, and cash calls
Fund Manager Operations
- Work closely with the Managing Directors to set the annual budget for the VC business line, including resource planning.
- Work closely with Accounting and Financial Performance Team to update forecasts and report on actuals to budget to key internal and external stakeholders.

The experience you bring
- Experience in fund administration, private equity, venture capital or corporate finance is a must.
- 7-10 years of professional experience in a similar fund administration, governance or finance / role within an alternative investment firm; experience in venture capital or technology space preferred.
- You have a relevant education background in governance, business/commerce or other related field.
- A CFA, CPA, CBV or working towards one of these designations is required. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- You know how to chase down required information and deliver on deadlines.
