The opportunity:
We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst that will be responsible for providing financial reporting on all ORBCOMM customer devices. This will require a deep understanding of ORBCOMM device life cycles, automated and manual financial accounting processes, and systems as well as the capability to speak at both the Executive and C-Suite high level as well as technical deep-dive discussions with focused cross-functional teams. With extensive knowledge of information systems and employer's operations, those in this position are expected to understand ORBCOMM’s business processes and ever-changing business requirements as the organization rapidly expands and enters various new markets.
Responsibilities:

Responsible for tracking and reporting financial information pertaining to ORBCOMM’s customers devices, such as but not limited to device revenue, cost, margin, ASP, etc.

Work closely with cross-functional team members to understand existing systems and processes to be able to provide device level financial reporting metrics.

Troubleshoot discrepancies, communicate systems and process issues, and improve overall data quality and system use.

Document standard processes and common problems.

Generate various financial reports upon request.

Gather requirements and analyze data, develop solutions, project consequences, and evaluate results.

Establish and maintain working relationships and interact with staff with limited computer knowledge.

Gain cooperation and consensus through discussion and persuasion.

Influence others to work together toward common goals.
Qualifications:
-
Requires 5-10 years of related experience.

Familiarity with Windows is required and experience with Unix-like Operating Systems is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with advanced database technology and database design methods (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL) are needed.

Strong analytical skills and extensive experience with Excel are a must.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), e-mail, and internal collaboration platforms (e.g., MS Teams) is required for this position.

Must have good interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to work well as part of a team.

Ability and desire to quickly learn new systems and software are a must.

A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, finance or a related field is required for this position, and applicants with significant prior work experience are desired.

Experience with large accounting or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems highly desirable.
