Assembler/Fabricator and Machine Operator – Calgary Alberta Facility
Overview
Eltherm is an internationally recognized manufacturer of electrical heat tracing products and custom engineered heat tracing solutions. We are seeking an experienced and qualified, Assembler and Machine Operator for our manufacturing/shop assembly site located in Calgary Alberta Canada.
The successful candidate will be expected to prepare, set-up, calibrate and safely operate custom engineered machinery designed to assemble custom engineered electrical trace heating products. The job includes manual and semi-automated assembly of custom components to put together/complete a final product. The Assembler is expected to work collaboratively with the operations manager/plant supervisor, technical and commercial team members to assemble and test and ship a final engineered product.
Tasks and Responsibilities
As a member of the Manufacturing Team, the Assembler/Fabricator and Machine operator will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Setting up, calibrate and adjust manufacturing equipment for daily use (Laser welding machine, high pressure crimping machine, spooling and measuring devices)
- Use and operate a variety of electrical, mechanical and manual tools to put together electrical and mechanical parts (including mechanical presses, electrical winding machines, drills, cutters, etc.)
- Manually position, adjust/fit and install custom parts and subassemblies using custom machinery
- Work with a variety of parts, made from various materials such as (but not limited to) high temperature resistant stainless steels and metals, fibrous insulation material (Magnesium Oxide powder), plastics, rubber, silicone and other materials.
- Bolt, press, screw, glue and assemble parts by hand as required
- Perform final product testing, which includes operating electrical metering equipment
- Reading and following basic diagrams, drawings, specifications, bills of material, and instructions to accurately assemble components into finished product
- Activities to identify improvement opportunities and champion their implementation into eventual process and product design
- Training and overseeing other employees on specialty machines
- Maintaining the understanding of operating procedures for their machines
- Follow safety requirements and company workplace safety procedures

Qualifications:
- Completion of High School or High School Equivalency
- Speak, Read and Write English
- Previous experience in assembly of a manufactured product an asset, electrical and mechanical background beneficial
- Valid driver’s license an asset
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
