SAIT’s Facilities Management department serves as steward of its building and grounds, ensuring physical operations are maintained and that spaces are safe, secure, functional and inviting for all who use them. The Facilities Management department is seeking a Locksmith. This position is responsible for the key control program and the proper function of all keyed entries, accessible doors; and, provision of keys and access implements on SAIT's campuses.
The Locksmith performs and oversees the following critical functions: service, update and support SAIT's master key hierarchy; identity management, creation and audit of end user accounts; cutting and recording of keys; updates and administration of GFMS lockbox hosted keysets; service, repair or replacement of mechanical mortise, rim, cylindrical locks and padlocks, electronic access control locks and associated hardware; complete preventative maintenance and annual inspection schedules for emergency lock devices, escape hatches and panic bars; liaise with internal partners, project and development teams and staff in identifying access needs.
