JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a skilled Carpenter who is hard working to fill an immediate need. You must be able to work in a team environment and also be able to work independently in carrying out tasks as it relates to the project. The Carpenter would work under the Foreman and also be able to lead a 2–3-person work crew to carry out various scopes of work as required.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
o Minimum of 5 - 10 years’ commercial construction experience
o Must have their journeyman ticket in carpentry
o Must be able to teach and mentor the work crew/ apprentices in preforming assigned tasks
o Good communications skills to communicate with all project personnel
o Good Safety knowledge and practices and ability to enforce the rules on site
o Knowledge of door and hardware prep
o Good knowledge base of commercial construction
o Be able to do paperwork such as, QC checklists, timesheets, safety documentation, etc.
o Be able to do accurate material take offs
o Ability to work independently and as part of team
o Ability to be available for overtime and some weekend work
o Heating and Hoarding experience
o Ability to read drawings and specification to carry out quality control checks
o Ability to run a telehandler and skid steer
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Lifting 50 lbs. maximum
o Frequently lifting/carrying up to 20lbs
o Involves pushing and pulling, climbing, bending and reaching
o Must be able to work in all weather conditions
MUST HAVE:
o High School Diploma or GED
o Valid driver’s license and own transportation
o Journeymen ticket
o Provide your own PPE – steel toe work boots, hard Hat, Hi-vise vest.
